Euro-Argo team strengthened with the recruitment of an Operational Engineer!

Romain holds a master's degree in Ocean and Atmosphere physics from University of Brest. He also graduated from ENSTA-Bretagne Engineering School where he got specialized in Hydrography and Oceanography. Romain first worked for a worldwide dredging company (Van Oord) as Hydrographic Surveyor. Then he was employed by the European Institute for Marine Studies (IUEM) in Brest and was responsible for the collection and processing of data from numerous sensors of the marine environment (multibeam echosounder, DGPS, LiDAR, ADCP, wave and tide gauge, water column analysis). He is familiar with mission planning and logistics, has technical expertise in marine instrumentation and knowledge of sea environment and European projects.

Within the Euro-Argo project office he will assist the Program Engineer in organizing the management activities (acceptance tests, qualification, and programming) of batches of profiling floats, from the earlier stage (procurement, handling and storing) to the latest ones (transport logistics, deployment, at sea monitoring and network survey).
