The ERIC is involved in the technical development of the ENVRIplus project. Through four tasks, the ERIC participates to one technical use case, and has an advisory role where the marine domain is not directly highlighted. In ENVRIplus, developments are made through Use Cases that are somehow demonstrations of improvement of the RIs through transverse activities.
WP1, TASK 1 : EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES MARKET AND LINK TO EUROPEAN SMEs
An exhaustive list of parameters to be measured across the four domains (Atmosphere, Solid Earth, Marine, Sea Ground) has been established. The ERIC participates to the organization of an Industrial forum during the spring 2017 in France, fostering the exchange between selected SMEs for their innovative fields and the needs of the RIs.
WP1, TASK 2 : COMMON METHODOLOGIES FOR INTER-COMPARISON AND JOINT FIELD TESTS
This task concerns a use case relative to the implementation of a pCO2 sensor on a float, with strengthen collaborations between the Euro-Argo ERIC and ICOS, FIXO3 and EGO RIs for developing prototypes measuring such parameter.
WP2, TASK 3 : METROLOGY, QUALITY AND HARMONIZATION
This WP deals with the exchanges between atmosphere and ocean and a use case of Chl-a from a modelling point of vue. Euro-Argo is not so much involved in such thematics and will only have an advisory role, if possible acting for the usage from Bio Argo networks data in models (Chl-a surface concentration).
WP4, TASK 1: JOINT OPERATIONS ACROSS RI DOMAINS
Within this task, the deployment and common management of a network of observatories concerns the use case on Methane measurement from the sea floor to the atmosphere. These parameters are not sampled by the Argo network. Euro-Argo proposes to provide temperature data within the water column if useful for the Methane case calculations. Few actions are requested from Euro-Argo side on this task.
